Three views of the new Sikorsky S76C++ in Boston MedFlight livery Boston MedFlight has chosen a Sikorsky S76C++ as the helicopter that will replace our retiring Dauphin aircraft later this year. Equipped with state-of-the-art safety features, the Sikorsky also gives us the ability to fly longer, heavier missions than we do currently, helping ensure that Boston MedFlight can meet the needs of a wider variety of patients into the future.

Patient story: Amin Abbassi
September 25th 2007 is a day that the Abbassi family of Bridgewater can never forget. It was almost time for the evening meal, and as their parents prepared dinner, 2-year-old Amin Abbassi and his 4-year old brother Thatcher played in the sunroom. Father Rafik soon returned to find that Thatcher didn't know where his little brother had gone. Shortly afterward, Rafik discovered Amin outside: his still body was floating in the swimming pool.

Boston MedFlight (BMF) is a CAMTS accredited Critical Care Transport service. BMF's mission is to extend the tertiary care services of the major Boston hospitals to the citizens of Massachusetts and New England. The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As a non-profit organization, BMF transports patients regardless of their ability to pay. MedFlight is financially supported in part by a consortium of Boston hospitals including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Medical Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Tufts Medical Center.
